VT De Lisle America Fund breaks through £100m with 165% increase in AUM

The outlook for US smaller companies in 2022

De Lisle Partners, the specialist US small-cap investment boutique, has confirmed that the VT De Lisle America Fund (‘the Fund’) has exceeded £100 million AUM, up from £37.7 million in January 2021*.  The Fund passes this significant milestone ranking first out of 227 funds in the IA North America sector, over one year – while manager Richard de Lisle looks ahead to what 2022 may bring.

Launched in 2010, the VT De Lisle America Fund focusses on under-researched US smaller companies and on investment themes such as the ‘great outdoors’ and ‘experiences’ that have helped drive performance throughout the pandemic.

Looking ahead to the prospect for US smaller companies in 2022 – away from the mega tech stocks and FAANGS that have driven the market in 2021 – manager Richard de Lisle sees opportunity ahead as the Fund is still at a record low P/E relative to the S&P 500.

Richard de Lisle, manager of VT De Lisle America Fund commented; “Our significant growth in AUM reflects investor demand for exposure to areas of the US market that are untapped by other, more mainstream, US equity funds.  The Fund has achieved strong returns over the course of 2021, driven by strong earnings which have kept the Fund’s P/E below 10, even as it rose.”
